DDS Technology - What Drives Us
Electric machines that rotate faster are more efficient and lower cost—this is the technological foundation upon which DDS is built. For gas and oil pipelines, and offshore drilling platforms, this makes it possible to replace aging motors and generators with more cost-effective electric machines. On naval vessels of the U.S. and U.K., DDS is enabling the transition to the all-electric ship. On naval vessels, DDS high speed generators can directly connect to the turbine shaft to produce electric power more efficiently, reliably and in a much more confined space for all new electric ships and retrofits. Today, DDS employs its technology to produce and service a line of high-speed, high-power motors, generators and power electronics that will transcend the norms of this industry by operating with greater efficiency—up to 12 times faster than the speeds available from conventional products—and at a significantly lower cost, size and weight.
