Direct Drive Systems DDS manufactures high speed permanent magnet (PM) motors & generators above 1.5MW (2000HP) up to 30MW (40,000HP). DDS’ unmatched proprietary technology enables its electric machines to operate at speeds to match the shaft speeds of turbo-machines (centrifugal compressors, steam and gas turbines, etc.) which are up to 12 times faster than conventional electric machines on the market today. Furthermore, this unique technology allows DDS electric machines to be smaller, more reliable, more efficient and more economical in capital and operating costs.
DDS' initial focus will be in oil and gas applications, both onshore and offshore as well as marine applications, both commercial and military. DDS’ technology and product value proposition has been confirmed by the acceptance of selected OEMs and end users. The benefits include:
